It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

When she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
