Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
