I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
