Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
