The Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign

The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm across the fandom. From the one-by-one reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming strong views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.

With many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as always angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram far more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.

Taurus – Super Heracross

Much like a devoted Taurus, the steadfast Heracross, both in its standard and Mega form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed love of treats. Several previous official descriptions note their fondness for tasty sap and how it employs its horn to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.

Gemini – Super Medicham

Look at this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless stream of gossip to those who wish to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's very simple to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s next moves, which seems very like a socially-savvy Twins.

The Crab – Super Manectric

Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for often becoming wrapped up in their emotions. According to the official info, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to make a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

The Lion – Mega Starmie

Well, did you think I was planning to select Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be much too obvious, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Players couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with constant digestive issues. The sign known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always shocked expression like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.

Libra – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, empathetic being, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the peace, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to stress more about others.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it became consciousness through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves karma and retribution, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the amount of times I’ve called myself some version of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can imagine.

The Goat – Super Absol

Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to always believe they’re right. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.

Aquarius – Super Chandelure

Aloof element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame typing fits perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
