The Red Devils Set to Secure German Forward Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from Bayern Munich.
A Major Signing for the WSL Side
The forward, with six months remaining on her contract, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival is viewed as a marquee signing for the WSL team.
Departure from Munich has been anticipated since she was seen holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its top forwards. According to multiple sources, all the paperwork for the move are now finalised.
Consistent Goal Threat to Boost United's Attack
The experienced striker's signing is expected to provide a major uplift to the team's forward line. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when the club appear to be gathering positive momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a victory in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The contract extension for Japanese playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become fan favourite since arriving in 2023.
On the midfielder's new deal, a senior figure stated: “Miyazawa is now a critical component to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and technical ability allows her and the team to dominate play from central areas.”
