Nearly 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the state, generating wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

State Emergency Services received nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At the height on the previous day, over twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
