Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story film debuted, launching Pixar as a major animation studio and bringing audiences to iconic figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but leaving fans curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys
In the teaser shows the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he grew up — receiving a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She gets her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is why the sheriff is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Certainly, the filmmakers will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him appear in the familiar setting unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether his partner will have returned with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The final act the cowboy did before setting off for his new life was hand over his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), entrusting her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the toys.
