The British government is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of frozen Russia's holdings to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They added that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

UK restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's resources since the Russian government launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, until now, funds sent to Ukraine using Russia's funds had solely been taken from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward employing the full value of the seized Moscow's national assets to end the war.

He stated that additional sanctions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to EU representatives met in Copenhagen last week to consider using frozen Russia's holdings for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.
